Meet Your SCORE Volunteers Bennett Hoffman Bennett attended the School of Hotel & Restaurant Management at the University of Denver and holds a BS in Business Administration from New York University. Bennett is extensively experienced in food service and hospitality management; entrepreneurial operation of fast food and full service table cloth restaurants; multi-unit table cloth service; fast food; sports and recreation concessions; and contract feeding. He has negotiated major food service contracts in purchasing, construction and design. He has been a food service executive and consultant to several major food service companies.Bennett has developed computer/software program applications for business plans, budgets, cash flows, pro-forma P & L's and other financial tools for operations analysis. Now a CPA Resource for SCORE Chapter 115, Valerie works primarily with other Score Counselors advising on accounting and tax matters. She also teaches two workshops on QuickBooks Software to business owners.Before retiring to Florida, Valerie worked in Washington DC as a bank examiner, naval auditor, and consultant. Yegge is experienced in starting and growing a wide spectrum of businesses. From 1995 until 2005 he founded, and was the Chief Executive Officer of, NexTrade Holdings, Inc. - a holding company that operated one of nine SEC-approved Electronic Communications Networks (ECN) on Wall Street. He has owned and operated businesses in import/export, financial software, motivational speaking and investment planning. He also has experience in negotiation, mergers & acquisitions, and strategic planning. At NexTrade, Mark Yegge was twice recognized as an Entrepreneur of The Year finalist by Ernst & Young and was cited as one of the Top 25 People to Watch by the Tampa Tribune. His companies have been awarded the FAST 500 designation by Deloitte and Touche and the FLORIDA 100 designation by the University of Florida and Florida Governer Jeb Bush - recognizing companies displaying growth and excellence. Mats has extended international exposure, covering Sweden, Spain, Ecuador, Dominican Republic, Puerto Rico and Florida. He started in a large retail business specializing in supermarket management. He then moved into cosmetics brand marketing and production planning. In the 1980’s, he was hired by a multinational consulting company to work with productivity improvement in Fortune 500 companies.Mats then became involved in sales and management training for the banking industry, which lead to involvement in the IT environment, selling and installing software solutions in the manufacturing and distribution environments. He ended up managing his own IT service company. Arriving in Florida in 2001, he started an auto parts distribution company based in Florida, which was converted into an Internet business.He is fluent in Spanish and Scandinavian. Cliff owned and operated a retail fuel distributorship, which included plumbing, heating and air conditioning contracting. He has been licensed as a Master Plumber, Master Electrician, Real Estate and Insurance Broker, and served as Chairman of the Planning Board in his community for eight years, overseeing many commercial site plans, a four anchor mall, Home Depot, Wal-Mart, and has reviewed many residential sub-division plans. He sold his business in 1994. Cliff recently retired from the Internal Revenue Service, and is a real estate investor here in Florida.Cliff has had featured articles in several national magazines: Plumbing and Mechanical (Granite State Expert Knows How to Crack Sales); PHC Profit Report (Consorting With the Enemy); How one contractor benefits from working with Home Depot; and The Burnham Reporter, “This Dealer Promotes...and Promotes”, Fuel Oil and Oil Heat, and New England Wholesalers News focusing on his marketing techniques and networking. Cliff is a veteran of the U.S. Navy, participating in Operation Deep Freeze '61 and '62 Antarctic Expeditions as an Electricians Mate 2nd Class aboard the U.S.S. Glacier AGB-4. Cliff served aboard the U.S.S. Allagash AO-98 during the Cuban Missle Crisis. A graduate of the First Naval District Instructor School, Cliff served as an instructor at the U.S. Naval Reserve Center, Lawrence, MA. He was selected to represent the center for a six week tour aboard the U.S.S. Franklin D. Roosevelt CVA.
